Defenders of Hogwarts Board Game Enters Late Pledge Phase

The iconic graphic artists responsible for the visual identity of the Harry Potter film series are officially making the leap into tabletop design. Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the creative duo behind Studio MinaLima, recently wrapped up the initial live campaign for their debut board game, Defenders of Hogwarts. Created in partnership with award-winning industrial designer David Waterman and produced under licence with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the project brings the unmistakable aesthetic of the film franchise straight to the gaming table. Following its successful main run, the campaign has now officially transitioned into its late pledge phase via the pledge manager.

A New Chapter in Wizarding World Design

Having spent twenty-five years shaping everything from the Marauder’s Map to the Hogwarts acceptance letters, Studio MinaLima has built an unmatched legacy in graphic storytelling. Defenders of Hogwarts marks their first direct foray into complete game development, combining elaborate physical components with rich world-building. The artwork, tokens, board design, and card illustrations have all been crafted within the studio, offering fans a level of visual continuity and physical quality that feels directly connected to the original films.

Choose Your Side in the Siege of Hogwarts

Designed for two to five players, the board game centres on the looming arrival of Lord Voldemort at the castle. Players must explore the storied school grounds, hone their spell-casting abilities, and prepare for the ultimate confrontation between good and evil. Crucially, the game offers a dramatic moral choice: participants are not restricted to fighting for the light. Players can actively choose to align with the Dark Forces, aiding the infiltration of Death Eaters across the castle grounds. This dual-path mechanic creates high-stakes, competitive gameplay where no two matches follow the same outcome.

Late Pledge Access and Release Timelines

The live campaign officially concluded its primary funding run on July 23rd 2026, raising over £1.2 million and crushing its initial £50,000 goal. With the project now in its late pledge window, tabletop fans who missed the live launch can still secure access to the pledge manager to reserve copies, select tiers, and grab exclusive add-ons. Following the fulfillment process, MinaLima plans a limited autumn 2026 release across select online retailers, House of MinaLima locations, and official Harry Potter Shops. A wider global release across multiple languages is slated to follow in spring 2027, perfectly aligning with the ongoing celebrations surrounding the 25th anniversary of the franchise's cinematic debut.
